Stylist Notes
The design of Allevol’s Postman Duffle Coat was inspired by a blueprint distributed to British General Post Office (GPO) workers in the early 1960s. These were also infrequently provided to the Royal Navy as government-issue goods. They were made by many manufacturers, but the most well-known was James Smith & Co. of Derby. Original specimens, which are often designated as sizes 1 or 2, are becoming more difficult to find. Cotton cord was used to make the toggle loops, and four wooden toggles with buttons were utilised to fasten them.
